Jacksonville is the most populous city in the state of Florida and the thirteenth most populous city in the United States. Jacksonville is the second largest U.S. city in land area. Located on the northeast shores of Florida, a short drive from the Georgia border, the city is over twice as large as New York at 757 square miles. The City also provides electric service in the City of Neptune Beach, Ponte Vedra Beach, and the Palm Valley area of northern St. Johns County.
The city of Jacksonville, Florida has been the first home to several famous people, groups, and organizations. Jacksonville offers terrific seafood and wonderful beaches, as well as fishing, golf, and sun. Jacksonville is warm, but not too hot, during the summer months, with cool temperatures in spring and fall. It can get a bit rainy in late summer, and the winters can get a little chilly, but overall the weather is very good. It has also been consistently rated as one of the “top ten best places to live”. |
